Covered Risks

FLEXA – Fire, Lightning, Explosion, Fall of aircraft on the home, parts thereof or transported objects or impact with them, except for explosive devices;

Earthquake: earthquake – strong and sudden telluric movement, of tectonic, volcanic origin, etc., including the indirect effects caused by it, only for the insured risks (fire/explosion caused as a result of an earthquake);

Flood from natural causes:

overflow of a watercourse, lake or sea or from the formation or overflow of torrents;

accumulation of water from atmospheric precipitation or melting snow in low-lying areas, lacking drainage possibilities or with reduced possibilities for water evacuation;

groundwater that comes out to the surface of the earth and/or the floor of the lowest room in the insured building;

rainwater or melted snow that penetrates directly from the surface of the land into the building, covering parts of the building with a layer of water.

Landslide: smooth movement of the land as a result of a tectonic movement or erosion due to natural causes.

Natural catastrophes and disasters must be certified by specialized institutions, authorized to ascertain their occurrence (National Institute of Seismology, meteorological stations, other authorized state institutions, etc.) or government communiqués.

Accidental fall of bodies (rocks, trees, poles or any similar objects that are not part of the insured property and whose movement is due to the effects of gravity, etc.).

Accidental and unintentional impact from the outside of the insured home and the fence that surrounds it, by road vehicles, other than those belonging to the Insured, family members or their employees.

Sonic boom: the direct action of the pressure generated by an aircraft breaking the sonic barrier.

Atmospheric phenomena: storm, hail, torrential rain, hurricane, windstorm, tornado. Indirect effects caused by water penetration through cracks and breaks caused to the roof, walls, doors and windows by the violent manifestation of atmospheric phenomena are also compensated.

Weight of snow, ice or avalanche

Accidental damage to water installations

Theft: theft by burglary of insured goods; theft by acts of robbery of insured goods, theft by use of original keys.

Vandalism.

Exclusions

Damage caused as a result of:

– war (even undeclared), invasion or action of an external enemy, civil war, revolt, revolution, rebellion, insurrection, military dictatorship, conspiracy, strikes, civil disturbances, terrorism;

– confiscation, expropriation, nationalization, requisition, seizure, destruction or damage by order of any government, de facto or de jure, or any public authority;

– atomic explosion, radiation or radioactive infestation as a result of the use of atomic energy or fissile materials;

– pollution and/or contamination of any nature and from any cause;

or damage:

– caused by an earthquake to frescoes, wall decorations, courtyards, stairs and other external structures;

– caused to appliances and installations which are the consequences of a fire or explosion due to wear and tear or poor maintenance;

– damages caused by lightning to electrical appliances and installations, except in the case where the lightning was followed by fire;

– damages caused to the installations themselves and the costs related to their repair;

– due to wear, rust, corrosion or poor maintenance of pipes or installations;

– damages caused during technical tests or damages caused as a result of repair work on the defective installation or on buildings as a result of interventions on the defective installation;

– damages caused during construction or repair work on buildings;

– caused by the penetration of rainwater, hail or snow (including water from melting snow) through unclosed windows, cracks in roofs, terraces, walls, bridges or other openings, unless these openings are caused by the insured risks;

– caused by freezing of water in pipes, tanks, vessels, etc., as a result of the negligence of the Insured or his family members;

– caused by underground works, tunnels, stone, gravel, sand and clay extraction quarries;

– caused by vibrations/tremors due to traffic (road, railway),

– caused by landslides caused by human actions;

– caused by devices and installations that are the consequences of a fire or explosion due to wear, malfunction, material defects or poor maintenance.

The insurer does not provide compensation for:

– damage caused by the artificial change of a watercourse, by spills from reservoirs or other hydrotechnical works, by the increase in water levels and the overflow of rivers and lakes, which are known to occur regularly (annually), by groundwater that penetrates or infiltrates inside the dwelling, causing dampness of floors, dampness of walls, etc.;

– damage caused by the settlement, cracking, contraction, bulging or swelling of foundations, walls, floors, ceilings or roofs, except in cases where such phenomena are directly caused by an insured risk;

– damage caused to electrical installations and equipment (including connection cables) only by the action of the electric current itself, overvoltage or overheating, if they were not followed by fire;

– damage caused by vehicles moving within the perimeter of the insured premises;

– breakage of windows as a result of an uninsured risk;

– wear, oxidation, smoking, erosion, corrosion, rusting, staining or gradual deterioration of the insured goods;

– damage caused by graffiti;

– damage caused by animals, insects, rodents, birds and other pests;

– damage caused by microorganisms, fungi;

– degradation of surfaces as a result of exposure to a normal heat source, including goods subjected to fire or heat for processing;

– ignition or use by the Insured or his/her agents of open fire in spaces where combustible, flammable or easily flammable products are stored or used or in the vicinity of buildings constructed of combustible materials;

– damage caused by fire caused by uncleaned or defective chimneys or around which flammable materials are stored;

– damage caused by fire caused by improvised installations (electrical or heating);

– the action of explosive devices, ammunition, firearms, implosions;

– collapse of buildings as a result of design errors and/or construction defects, the use of construction materials with hidden defects, poor maintenance of buildings, their age or state of deterioration, unrelated to any of the insured risks;

– simple theft – where there are no signs of burglary, theft by fraud;

– damage caused to the uninsured home as a result of burglary or acts of robbery of the insured goods;

– claims for compensation resulting from moral damages, even if these are the result of a civil judgment;
