Health insurance

This type of insurance is intended for people traveling outside the Republic of Moldova, individually or in a group, for personal or business reasons.

Although it is not mandatory to take out travel insurance when leaving the country, it is useful and recommended because:

COVERED RISKS

  1. costs of emergency medical treatment following a sudden illness or accident (including costs for: medications, diagnosis and hospitalization);
  2. costs of repatriation for continued treatment in the country;
  3. repatriation of the body in the event of death;
  4. expenses for transportation by ambulance services to the nearest hospital or to the nearest doctor;
  5. emergency surgical treatment;
  6. emergency dental treatment;

Covered Risks

Additionally, travel insurance may also cover:

  • loss of luggage, damage to electronic equipment, trip cancellation, etc.
Exclusions

No compensation is granted for:

– chronic diseases and their consequences as well as diseases or accidents that the insured person has intentionally caused or by committing a crime, or as a result of the consumption of alcohol, drugs or medication;

– diseases or accidents that are the result of war and similar events or active participation in riots, suicide, attempted suicide, self-harm;

– plastic and reconstructive surgery;

– psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment;

– pregnancy;

– expenses incurred for the purchase, replacement or repair of prostheses of any kind and/or eyeglasses;

– surgical interventions or medical treatments that may be postponed until the Insured Person’s return to the country;

– medications or medical treatments necessary to be administered or provided during the trip abroad and which were known or prescribed before the start of the trip;
